RULE CLARIFCATION ENQUIRY

Organisters received this enquiry on the compulsory battery change rule:

Hi ---- what will be classed as a battery replacement, as previous enduros have allowed just the plug to be unplugged and replugged in, the entry form isn't clear and needs to be clarified prior to the event. > > regards ---- > >

Hi ----, The rule states:

"All GP teams will be required to complete two (2) receiver battery changes after notifying a pit lane official."

In the past, if a team has 2 batteries in the one chassis, a unplug and plug-in into the 2nd battery has been acceptable, and this will continue to be the case. The rule states there needs to be a "battery change" so unplugging and the re plugging-in into the same battery would not be deemed a "battery change".

If for exampleyou were running 2 batteries in the chassis, and on the 2nd compulsory battery change you unplug and plug-in back into the original battery (should you think this is suitably safe) this would be acceptable.

The Pro-Line 3 Hour Classic is another endurance race open to both Nitro and Electric powered vehicles. The race duration of 3 hours is certain to put both drivers and machines to the ultimate test of endurance.

2008 is the 3rd running of this annual event and PDNR extend the invitation for all drivers to form a team and be part of this fun, challenging and very rewarding endurance event.

The entry details are listed on the entry form, but the following information should clarify some points in more detail.

When: The Pro-Line 3 Hour Classic is on Saturday, November 29, 2008.

Location: PDNR's home location, the Sydney International Regatta Centre - Entry is via Gate A (General Entry), Old Castlereagh Rd, Penrith.

Time: The track will be available from 4:00pm for open practice, with qualifying starting at 6:00pm. The Pro-Line 3 Hour Classic will start at 7:00pm. Presentations will be held at the conclusion of racing.

Pro-Line 3 Hour Classic: The 3 Hour Classic is an endurance event held over 3 hours (180 minutes). Driver changes are permitted during the race, at least 2 of the team members must share the driving. This race may be held rain, hail or shine. It is the team's responsibility to prepare the car for all possible conditions.

Race Format: There is a maximum of 20 teams competing for 3 Hours, with the team completing the highest number of laps in this time the champion. Only one division is available - 1/10 Touring Car - and both nitro and electric powered cars will run together. There is a maximum of 20 teams available based on a first in best dressed basis for nitro and electric.

Bodies: The Proline 3 Hour Classic has a new theme for 2008 thanks to the title sponsor Pro-Line/HEI International. This year all teams will be using a Nissan G35 Coupe body which each team receive complimentary just for entering. The EP team will be happy this year as this body is available in both 200mm (GP) and 190mm (EP).
