RACE RESULTS - 2007 PDNR RC BATHURST 1000

On Saturday, October 6, a smaller than usual twelve drivers made the treck to Bathurst, NSW for the 4th annual RC Bathurst 1000. Unfortunately a very busy racing calendar in the lead up to the event resulted in many regular drivers being abscent from this years event, but the smaller numbers didn't detract from the event.

The many spectators were entertained all day not only by the RC Bathurst 1000 cars, but many other trucks, buggy's 1/8 scale and 1/5 scale that featured in the 15 minute open practice sessions held in between each round of qualifying.

The event attracted drivers from clubs other than PDNR with a good attendance from Lithgow RC Car Club and the Bathurst RC car club. The day was relatively relaxed with the emphasis on entertaining the crowds that were 5 deep at some times of the day. The format did not change with the RC Bathurst 1000 based on the real Bathurst 1000 race in which drivers attempt to qualify for a spot in the 20 car 161 lap main event through 3 qualification rounds which were combined to give a final result.

Four divisions were available, Supercar, Lite, Production and Electric with the top 10 qualifiers competing in a Top 10 Shoot Out for pole position and then did battle for the 161 lap main event, which this year took a fractio nunder 50 minutes to complete.
