Race results from the 2009 Racing Lines GP On Road Winter Championships held on Saturday July 4 and hosted by PDNR at the Sydney International Regatta Centre are now available. Click on the links below to view the information.
This event is promoted by Racing Lines Magazine and typically each year is hosted by a different club. 2008 was PDNR's first opportunity at hosting this event and attracted 84 entrants. In 2009 just over 70 entrants were in attendance to once again do battle for this prestigeous event. PDNR thank all drivers and their friend and families who attended this year for their support of the event.
The traditional schedule was abandoned this year, with the event catering solely for Nitro (GP) divisions. The divisions competing were again based on the Nitro Interclub Series format of: Nitro Sport, Pull Start, Open Tourer and 1/8 Scale. The 2009 Winter Champs was blessed with perfect weather - althought there was a definiate chill in the air once the Sun disappeared behind the Blue Mountains.
The Nitro Interclub Series was a big talking point leading into the event, with SORMCC leading PDNR by only 2 points. PDNR were faced with a must win scenario to secure victory and take their third consequative series win....which for the record they did! PDNR were victorious thanks to awesome support of many PDNR drivers, NSWRCRCC were very well respresented and secured 2nd and SORMCC were 3rd.
The track records were broken in most divisions, and PDNR's temporary car park circuit was graced with the best 1/8 scale drivers Australia has to offer. For full details and results please browse the links below for qualifying and finals results.
